I got a gerbil a weekend ago and yesterday we bought a friend for him. They stayed in separate cages over the night. I tried to put them in the same cage but with bars between them but the new one could easily manage to get over but they didn’t fight. So far they have not started to fight and they have been together for almost a day. I don’t know if the Greer each other or if they are nibbling each other but they kind of put their faces tighter but just for a second and then one of them peep but they also sniff each other and have been in the same hut and didn’t fight. None of them is tame yet but the first one is starting to be so it’s hard to pick em up if I would need to replace one of them. Is it a normal gerbil behavior. Is everything as it should or do I need to do something?
