Newly adopted cat has a Upper respiratory infection and gave it to my other cat, how do I help ease there symptoms.

They both have runny red eyes and are constantly sneezing. I’m having trouble finding a vet that is opened on Saturday and I am wondering if there’s anything I can do to help ease their symptoms. I feel so guilty that I exposed my resident cat to a sickness and she is taking it much worse then the new cat. Please let me know your experiences with this. How long did it last? Is it potentially life threatening?
