Our vet just recommended a food change trial for our 11 year old cat and suggested Royal Canin PR wet food (rabbit/pea). It costs $3 a can (at the vet & on Chewy) and I am hoping there is a cheaper version.
It doesn't have to be that exact food- we are just trying to switch to a single protein/no grain wet food with no chicken/beef.
