So here is my problem. I'm trying to convince my parents to allow an adoption of a bird. The thing is I have pets. Two cats and a dog. Now the dog may be big but she is very nonagressive. Not a problem. The thing is my two cats fight a lot. It started as the older one being jealous but turned into playing. Now I don't think either of them could catch the bird even if it was let out. One is a bit of a chub and the other is a bit slow. They're my fatty and stupid though. Anyway my parents aren't convinced. So I thought that since animals usually only see animals smaller than them as food what if we get a bigger bird. I know owls, hawks, and falcons would turn the tables to the cats being the snacks. What bird is in that midpoint where there is no chance that one could kill one another before they accept them as a housemate?
