As an ACO, I've learned that people fucking suck.
I've worked with tons of different animals. Abused/neglected pets of all types, wildlife of all types, "vicious" animals, etc.
Anything that has a mouth can bite, but animals don't bite out of spite. They don't bite out of anger, they don't bite out of hate. Most animals bite out of fear, pain, defense, to eat, or play. I've been bit by tons of different animals, including birds, snakes, raccoons, dogs, cats, and more.
Out of all the vicious animal calls we get - which is like at least 4-5 a day - I've only seen 2 truly vicious animals in 3 years of working for the county.
I carry bear spray, among other things though. Why would I carry bear spray if I don't see that many vicious animals?
Because I see vicious humans at least weekly. People suck. That's why I carry bear spray.
It's not the animals fault if they bite someone, it's almost always the human for failing to control the animal, or generating the conditions for the animal to bite.
End-rant.
