My dog food was delivered with a buttload of ants in and outside the bag. They're sending me another and told me I don't need to send the other one back. I don't want it in my kitchen so I don't get ants, so I need to get rid of it somehow. The problem is that I feel guilty wasting dog food. But I also don't want to be an ass, like "I wouldn't feed this to my dogs, but maybe your standards aren't quite as high". If I gave this to a shelter, would they be able to use it? Or would it be thrown out? If you had a friend offer you a free bag of dog food but it had ants in it, would you be offended? I don't want to be an ass but I also hate the idea of waste when others can't feed their pets right now.
