I live in a condo area that has quite a few stray cats(usually the same ones) that are around and fed by people. I recently been seeing this new cat. I was walking my dog to my car and turned around the cat was following me and my dog to the car. My dog grew up around cats but she doesn’t have a prey drive and is chill so she was just interested and smelling it.
The cat is now sitting at my door meowing and wants to come inside. I don’t know what to do, it’s late and I don’t have a cat carrier, but it somehow found my door and is sitting there crying. I feel so bad. Also earlier one of the usual stray cats(I call him Samson) was picking a fight with it, and it didn’t attack till provoked but I clicked at Samson and he left it alone. (He’s very friendly with people and seems like the head honcho cat around here).
I definitely wouldn’t mind having a cat but first and foremost I will protect my dog because she’s my baby.
Another thing to add, when I opened my door to peek at the cat my dog came to the door to sniff and look and the cat didn’t hiss at my pup.
