I apologize for the long post. I’m in need of some advice. My fiancée and I have been put through the ringer with ringworm. About 6 weeks ago we rescued a little kitten who was outside, starving and cold. We have a 2 year old cat at home already so before we even brought the kitten into our home with our cat we took her to the vet to be examined. They said she was perfectly clear and healthy. We brought her into our home and our cats quickly became attached to one another. About 2 weeks after bringing her in I noticed red rings all over my body. I was COVERED. I went to my family doctor who then diagnosed me with ringworm. I was BLOWN away. I’ve never really known anyone who has had ringworm. So doing the right thing again, I brought the kitten back to the vet. Explaining to them that I got diagnosed with ringworm and the kitten was brought into our home. The vet then did a lamp test on the kitten and the kitten came up negative. So she sent her home. About 3 days after that my 2 year old cat started getting lesions on his head... I knew immediately. So I called the vet AGAIN and brought him in as soon as I could. He CLEARLY was showing symptoms and they came rapid and horrible looking. The vet sent us home with topical and shampoo. Long story short the kitten was asymptomatic and infected us all with ringworm. My fiancée and I are completely devastated. This has taken a huge toll on us. My poor 2 year old cat has huge scabs on his face, ears, chin and by his eyes. All we do is clean constantly and apply ointment to the cats and bathe them. It doesn’t seem to be getting much better. We have spent so much money already at the vet for ringworm and we just don’t see improvements. They don’t want to put them on oral because of their age and the side effects that come with oral anti fungal. I was looking online and read a lot about lime sulfer dips so we ordered it because at this point we are willing to try anything. For anyone who has dealt with ringworm in cats and knows anything about it can you tell me what are some things you may have done for your cats that successfully cured it? Does the lime sulfer dip work? How long did It take for ringworm to go away? I am feeling so defeated from ringworm, we love our cats so much so this has been very hard. I am hoping to hear some success stories as well. Thank you in advance!
