Question for owners with pets they got from breeder...

Hello, I was wondering for those of you who have gotten your pets from breeders, how do you usually respond to hate? What do you say when someone asks “why didn’t you rescue or adopt?” I’ve fallen in love with a kitten I stumbled across, up until now I never considered getting a cat from a cattery. Now that I’m sure I’m going to go through it I suppose I’m trying to find more reasons to “justify” it. I’m having a moral battle 😭
