will fostering a cat make my cat upset when the foster leaves?

i mean, i'm sure it will to a degree, but i mainly want to know just what this situation i'm thinking of taking on would do to my future furball. basically, in a few months, after i move and get situated, i plan to adopt a cat. at around the same time, my best friend is moving back in with her folks (pandemic gonna pandemic) and can't keep her cat there. she's asked me to take care of it while she looks for a new job and eventually a new place, but odds are that'll be a good few months if not longer. i'm worried the two will get really attached to each other, especially with mine never knowing my place without the foster around. thoughts?
