My chihuahua is about 13 weeks old. (12 weeks, six days.) My mother insists that she is fed 8 times a day, every three hours. I keep missing one shift during the night, and both of my parents are a bit mad at me for it. My question is: how often does a chihuahua have to be fed, in actuality?
For reference, I missed the 1 AM and fed her just a bit ago, at 4 AM, so she’s only getting fed once tonight. She seemed very hungry and ate a lot during this; I can’t help thinking she ate a bit too much, but she seems okay. This dog also gets NutriCal at least once a day and a few homemade treats (meat, eggs, flour— all cooked). (The last time she was offered food was around 9 PM, last night. I can’t recall whether or not she took some.)
So anyway, with all this in mind: how much should a 13 week old chihuahua puppy be fed?
