My cat is only a couple years old, and has been potty trained. He’s full of energy and we love him. But as of late, he’s become more vocal, clawing the door to go outside and sit on the patio.
What’s worse is that he will constantly open doors and poop in other people’s rooms, especially beds and rugs. I’m talking like, random poops everywhere. I don’t know if it’s because of an underlying health issue or a dirty litter box, but it needs to stop, or my parents are going to get rid of him.
What should I do? I’m unable to take him to the vet on my own nor buy a new litter box (no car), and nobody in my home’ll do anything about it but spank the cat (which is probably perpetuating the issue). My parents are close minded, so it’s up to me to ‘fix’ him. I will be washing the two litter boxes we have for him and our other cat (who’s fine) later today.
I feel like I have to constantly watch him, and he always smells like poop, runs away, and looks guilty. Please help me help him. I want my old cat back, and I would hate myself if I couldn’t help him in time. Thank you all, any advice is appreciated!
