Cat still not eating, diarrhea. should I take him to the emergency 24/7 vet? visited regular one Friday

My cat threw up 20+ times, about 3 times an hour, from 11pm-8am Thursday night/Friday morning (stayed up all night with him). We took him to the vet that morning soon as they opened, they gave him cerenia to stop the throwing up and a shot of fluids to keep him from being dehydrated. They said not to even try to feed him till tomorrow after lunch (today). He pooped and peed that day, seemingly normally but if it was diarrhea we wouldn’t have been able to tell because he covered it up. We talked about blood work and x rays but the vet said they thought he’d be okay. Vet’s explanation was he thought he probably had a hairball or bit a lizard or frog or something that triggered a chain reaction of vomiting.

6pm today, Saturday, he has not eaten. He just pooped and it was a couple solid pieces but a lot of brown diarrhea, liquid. I couldn’t tell if there was blood in it because he covered it up too fast to study. I got it in a bag and picked thru it with a knife. I did not notice any red or blood, but these were just the solid pieces as the diarrhea was soaked by the litter. We have really tried to get him to eat. I just held his food in front of him, he licked his lips a lot and drooled. He has been licking his lips some, but it is not a constant at all. Only a couple times an hour or if we have food in front of him. We’ve tried all kinds of foods, going to cook boiled chicken and rice now. He’s moved around some, asked to go out a couple times. Mostly slept.

Should we take him to the emergency vet? It’s an hour away. Or give him a chance to get better. He did throw up 20-30 times, he probably still has a bad taste in his mouth and is sore. Like I said, we didn’t do blood work or x rays before. I called the emergency vet, they said we could bring him in or wait till tomorrow and see if he gets better on his own, that if he wasn’t vomiting any more and there was no blood in his stool they didn’t think it was an immediate emergency. The diarrhea was the reason for my calling now. But it was just the front desk person, not the dr, but they did know about the medicine and seemed knowledgeable. He’s 4 btw. It’s just, we actually took him to the vet Friday twice Bc I was so worried (2nd time they gave him fluid shot), and the dr made it seem like the reason he was so lethargic was he had such a long tolling night plus two vet trips. This is why I’m hesitant, I don’t want to set him back or hurt him by making another stressful vet trip if he IS getting better.
