Had it with our two cats

My wife and I have 3F and 2F tabby cats. I’ve slowly started to resent them because of bad behavior. They are both rescues that we adopted first in 2017 and the second in 2019. Both are from the same rescue organization. We moved into our house last February and have an 11 month old son. They have gotten really aggressive with each other within the last 4 months. The younger one is sweet while the older one is more independent and doesn’t like to be bothered. The young one has started pooping right outside of the litter box and peeing on our bed and on our son’s plush chairs. Tonight was the final straw for me/us. The younger one jumped clear over the baby gate right onto our son and scratched his face and head. I’m an emotion person so this horrified me. I’m upset, furious and at the end of my rope. My wife and I love the cats but our son is and always will be everything to us. We are devastated and currently discussing the idea of giving them to a family that can love them and provide a safe and comfy life for them. Has anyone else gone through this? I need some advice
