I adopted a cat about 4 months ago (he was 7 months old when I adopted him). I bought him a normal litter box, but recently purchased one of those cat toilets that has a roof and cat flap.
But despite guiding him to it and opening the flap and guiding him inside (with his usual litter crystals in), he doesn't seem to understand how to use it and ended up taking a big shit on my rug.
Obviously I don't blame him, he clearly just doesn't understand the new device and may be stressed about it. But how exactly can I teach him that it is his new toilet?
