So when I was 10-12 (I'm 21 now) I had two green anole lizards, Denver and Dover. They both lived about two years, which was way longer than those lizards lifespans say they should live. I literally bought a bearded dragon, now named Tabouli, on 1000% impulse, I've seen them before but I know NOTHING about taking care of one. I bought him a terrarium which came with just about everything he needs food/heat/space/atmosphere wise, and I live in a loud house with 7 guys. Tabouli did NOT care about how loud the music was blasting (he fell asleep), he seems to love his cage and everybody here, and he’s eaten a bit of his food and drank some of his water but not much else. Essentially, it seems like he’s fine. But now that he’s a living thing I'm responsible for, I wanna make sure I don’t fuck this up, so I want to make him the coolest, happiest bearded dragon anybodies ever OWNED. So if anybody has some 'oh dude do this' or 'bro you gotta teach it this trick' type of advice I would LOVE to hear it. I seriously don’t even know if these are trainable animals, like I basically bought an ostensibly low-maintenance pet because I thought it would be awesome, and so far I have no regrets. I wanna keep it that way!
TLDR - I know nothing about bearded dragons but I bought one today. I've owned it for 12 hours and have had absolutely no problems, in fact he already seems like a perfect pet for me right now as a young adult trying to figure out my life. I just wanna make sure it stays this way and he lives a long happy life because he’s awesome but I’m uninformed and don’t want him to suffer because of it. Thanks internet strangers!
