Hello, people of r/pets, I have lost my cat and need some tips, advice, or reassurance. I don't know who has lost their pets or would know how to find her based on this information, but I feel this information is important in being able to find her.
She is an indoor/outdoor cat, always came inside every day for food, cuddles, or sleeping. She loved the outdoors as well, but just as equally loved being with me and my fiance. She is actually a huge sucker for my fiance and begs for his attention. Whenever we did go outside, we would see her under a car, near our house (and the trees nearby), or rolling around in the dirt because she is happy we are outside with her. From these details and what we know about her personality, we highly doubt she ran off to explore the world.
We lost her a week ago, and we let her in to eat at 5 pm. Right after, she left the house, and then it started raining from that night into the entirety of the next day. We haven't seen her since 5 pm. I think it is important to note she does not care about the rain. We have another cat that is indoor/outdoor as well and meows to come inside while it's raining, but my missing cat just does not care and would even beg to go outside even while raining. She probably does take shelter though. On Sunday she went missing, and on Monday morning is when our garbage is picked up. Both of these cats are too smart to be run over and have been out while the garage is being taken. We also haven't seen any dead cats. We also asked the garbage man this morning, and they haven't seen her.
She is such a vocal cat, when she wants to come inside we hear her piercing meows across the entire home. If she is here, we know instantly. We searched our neighborhood and surrounding areas for the past week, she will come if we call for her, but only us. She is actually quite cautious about people, if people approach her, she will run or hide, but she isn't terrified of everything. I posted everywhere on FB groups, and no one has seen her. I also left my clothes outside for her because of the scent. Talked to all of our neighbors, no one has seen her or has her locked in their house or the sorts. Also called all surrounding shelters.
I am kind of lost on what else I need to do, I am really worried about her, but I just really don't think she is dead. She could be, but knowing how she is I really doubt it. The only thing I can think of is she got lost in the rain and wandered too far off her territory, or is stuck or hiding. I'm open to any possibilities or suggestions though.
