Okay, so I’ve lived with her before and we were actually able to get my cat and her dog on the same couch together of their own accord. It’s been 3-4 years since we lived together so I’m sure that the dog forgets being cool with my cats. I’ve seen her dog with other cats. While she obsesses over them for a bit, after a while (a few hours) she loses interest. And when a baby gate is involved, she doesn’t try and charge at it or knock it down, she just stares. So it makes me think that she’s more curious about the cat rather than actually out to hurt it.
The floor plan of our new home is ideal. I get the whole upstairs to myself and my friend her dog live downstairs. I’ve purchased a 41in baby gate to go at the top of the stairs and my friend has another gate to go at the bottom. We want them to eventually be able to coexist without concern. Do you think this is possible?
