Hi everyone!
Long story short; on Monday my short haired cat was acting pretty weird, long haired one seemed fine. Tuesday the weird behaviour continued, late Tuesday night we brushed them both, the short haired cat had flea dirt, long haired one not much at all. We called the vet Wednesday morning, and we treated our cats Wednesday afternoon. I’ve vacuumed every day, as well as spraying our whole house down twice now - we threw out their beds, any blankets they lay on, washed the couch covers and sprayed them down, washed our bedding and the extra bedroom bedding, which the cats are now locked out of those rooms.
It’s Saturday night (6:30pm) we treated the cats on Wednesday around 3:30pm. But they’re still licking quite a bit, with a little bit of scratching.
We brushed them out last night and the short haired still had a live flea on him. Should I be worried the treatment isn’t working? Our cats are older and have never had fleas before, so I’m unsure of how long this should take.
My mom is telling me to give it a week. The internet saying 1-3 months. I’m just totally unsure and completely panicked.
