3 days ago I woke up to my front door open and my indoor cat was missing. She is known to be curious and shy and likes to hide under our couch. My apartment complex is filled with cars that she could hide under but also a lot of people and dogs running around that could scare her away. Backed up to my complex is a forest and it is located about 50 meters from my apartment (3rd floor). I don’t think she would just walk into the woods but I wouldn’t be surprised if she got scared and ran into there. I don’t think she would decide to go deeper into the woods though because she just wants to come back home.
I have put up flyers, received 3 calls from neighbors who thought they saw my cat, but there are a few roaming cats in the complex so it’s unlikely. I have left her litter box, food and water right outside my door, and my dirty clothes in a cozy bed under my car. Tomorrow I plan on setting out a trap with food in it.
Not sure what else to do. Does anyone have any more tips or advice. Much appreciated.
If you have ever lost your cat or currently missing your cat, I’m so sorry. This has been really hard so I feel you.
