I've discovered my cat had a roundworm in her feces. I'm absolutely terrified I'm going to get worms from her. If anyone would be kind enough to share information on how to decontaminate my room, i would be more than grateful.

I apologise if this is the wrong subreddit for this but I'm so worried and panicked I am on the verge of giving myself an anxiety attack. I've discovered within the last few hours that my cat has roundworms (there was undeniably a roundworm in her feces) and she's going to the vet as soon as possible, but I'm absolutely terrified of contracting worms from her. I'm not entirely sure how long she's had them (I'll estimate either a week or shorter than that), as we've had another cat in the house for a week or so that I had suspected had worms but no one believed me on this (the culprit). My cat sleeps on my bed, steps on my pillow, jumps on almost every surface there is, runs rampant around my room, etc. I always wash my hands after I scoop her litter but I'm finding mixed answers as to whether or not I can contract them from the environment outside her litter box (which is unfortunately my room). I'm terrified I'm going to get worms and I'm not sure how to go about decontaminating my room. I've tried to dig up as much info on this as I can but I'm just freaking myself out even more because I can't find a clear-cut answer. I also have been unable to find a clear answer on how likely it is to contract roundworms from your pet as I don't know for certain how long she's had roundworms. I want her to be healthy and well, as I said I'm taking her to the vet as soon as I can, but I also don't want to have a bout of roundworms. Please, if anyone has anything to help me on this it would be extremely appreciated.
