My Cat Figured Out How To Entertain Himself: A Success Story

I adopted my cat back in Dec 2 years ago. It was the first time I was getting a pet of my very own, and I desperately wanted a kitten. I picked out an adorable tabby kitten from the shelter.

"You might want to consider adopting two, so he has a companion" advised the wise shelter lady

"No," I replied foolishly "my boyfriend says we can only get one"

I left the shelter with my cat-son, the love of my life, he slept in my arms and rarely left my side. I was in heaven. I look back on those happy days often.

Try as I might to teach him good manners, he developed an attitude. He was loud, so loud, all the time. Screaming for attention every second he was awake, never ceasing unless I stepped away from what I was doing and paid tribute to my new master. Heaven was becoming hell. Especially when this behavior started continuing well into the night.

Over the last few months we've worked hard, and at last, success! He has figured out that he can play on his own! That efforts to rouse me at night are fruitless.

Now I just need him to leave me alone when I want to watch TV or go on the computer...cat master does not like it when I ignore him for the glowing screens.
