My cat is older, turned just 10 years old. We’ve had issues with him being a picky with his food before, sometimes he just gets bored of it and stops eating but he always has an appetite. He’s constantly begging for treats and human food.
This past week he’s felt a little more thin and has been sleeping more. Still his usual beggar self, and had no problem getting up and down. But he hasn’t been eating his food as much. Literally earlier today he was jumping on my desk and aggressively trying to sit in my lap while I was working. A couple of hours later though when I woke him up from a nap, he staggered a little in the hallway and felt kind of limp when I picked him up and I realized he seems lethargic.
I tried to get him to eat some of his food but he wasn’t interested, however when I offered him treats he acted like he was starving. I got him to drink a little water, eat quite a few treats and some boiled chicken. I’m going to try to get him to the vet tomorrow ASAP but I’m really worried. Do you have any ideas what this could be? I’m hoping he’s just been an asshole about eating his kibble and will perk up in a while since he’s eaten now.
What do you think could be wrong? He seemed fine earlier today and now all of the sudden he’s pretty lethargic.
