Our golden puppy Nora is 10 weeks we got her at 8 weeks so she’s been with us for 2 weeks. We started feeding her in the crate so she would get a good association with the crate and not mind going in. The first few nights of crate training we hard. I moved the crate next to our bed so she would feel more comfortable, I also put a goose stuffed animal which she’s around the same size so it felt like she had another body next to her. I’m working from home so she is very attached to me. I’m with her 24-7, we have another dog and she really likes him also. But we have tried putting her in her crate while we’re still up so she knows crate time can happen anytime. We put her in at 11 and she cried and screamed for literally 2 hours straight. We went to bed at 1, put the crate next to the bed and she continued to cry for hours. How is it that she is regressing? She was sleeping through the next by day 4 of her crate! She’s cried for 4 hours straight, I finally got up and took her out she peed a few times but then was wide awake, I allowed her to play a little to get some energy out before putting her back. She still cried for two straight hours!! I don’t know if she has separation anxiety because she’s seen me two weeks straight because I WFH. Or if she just is upset because she’s not getting her way? Any advice on how to get her to sleep through out the night without her crying?? It doesn’t seem like she is able to calm herself down like my other dog did. Our lab just resorted to sucking on his blanket but she just cries like someone is killing her.
