This is more for my boyfriends dog. He currently lives with two other roommates in a house and their lease ends at the end of December. The landlord has been kind of shitty and is raising their rent by $500 when they re-sign and he can’t afford to stay so he’s going to move into his moms until we can save enough and put a deposit down for a house by April/May. His moms condos unfortunately don’t allow dogs and his mom doesn’t want him there either. ☹️ I live with my parents now or I’d take him in. He has no family or friends who are able to home him temporarily.
We love his dog and he doesn’t want to get rid of him by any means so it’s a tough situation. What are our options? Are there such things like temporary rehoming places that can home him and then we could get him back a few months later? We don’t want to take him to the shelter for fear of being put down or taken by another family (he’s an older dog with a deformity and as sad as it is to say, I don’t think he’d be taken by anyone else so the latter scares us.)
Any advice is much appreciated!
