Whenever I have to give her a bath, brush her, give her medicine, brush her teeth, clip her nails etc she growls and squirms a lot so I have to “squish” restrain her/pin her down, or completely wrap her in a towel, and she’ll hiss and flail, generally very unhappy. But then later she’s all love, snuggling beside me or rubbing my legs.
I know that extreme traumatic situations like abuse and neglect can definitely affect an animals wellbeing, but do dogs and cats internalize routine health care by humans as abuse?
