I’m poor, but I have enough money to survive plus some.
The nearest shelter in my rural area is a kill shelter. I know I can’t afford a luxurious life for a pet, but I can at least keep one from dying. I can afford food and toys and more. But..
Even though I don’t have emergency funds for expensive vet visits, is my loving care for a pet worth more than probable euthanization?
I love animals. And I’m lonely. I would love an animal companion. But I don’t know if I’m ready to have one yet because I can’t afford the utmost in veterinary care for one.
So tldr; I’m poor. Can I adopt a pet or no?
