My bf and I found a kitten on the side of the road today and took her to the vet. No fleas, gave her dewormer, was a bit dehydrated and her temperature was a little low (crediting that to the storm we had last night) and has a bit of an upper respiratory infection (wheezing, sneezing, mucus in her eyes, and sniffling). Got antibiotics for her URI and got some wet food. Set her up with litter box and water and have been feeding her with spoon and she’s eating a bit and we gave her water with a syringe a few times.
Her eyes get closed shut when she naps so we’ve been wiping them with a warm washcloth to make her more comfortable. She was scratching in the litter box but haven’t seen her go from what I can tell?
My concern is if it’s okay to leave her alone at night in the bathroom and if I need to continuously check on her? I wrapped her in a furry jacket, there are towels and stuffed animals and my sweaters everywhere so she’s warm and I even warmed rice up in a sock and put it under my jacket incase she’s cold. I’m just concerned since she’s so young if she won’t survive with me sleeping in my bedroom? The bathroom is connected to my room but I just don’t want to risk my boyfriend or I rolling over on her if I were to have her sleep with us.
Please help!
