So my baby girl, Luna, died yesterday. I was at work. They found her dead in the yard, and it had looked like she had been dead all night- but not completely since I was out in the yard calling for her after work the night prior. So it had to have been after.
Well, the part I don't understand is why she apparently looked the way she did. Her collar was about 20 feet away from her body, and she didn't have any major injuries except for a hole in her ass. Like apparently a big one. As far as the specifics for the hole.. I asked and they said it just looked really bad. They couldn't tell if the hole was jagged or a clean cut or anything because they were so shocked and upset. My brother's girlfriend, one of the people who found her, said she thought it looked like something "was eating her."
I just want to understand what happened to her to help bring a little peace. This has broken my heart.
I should also clarify we live in the southern-east part of the USA. The only animals around here are really deer and foxes. Some skunks.
Please, if anyone has an idea I would love to hear it. My grandma said, and I quote, "God I don't know, I haven't seen anything like it."
