Hi! A month or two ago my boyfriend and I adopted a cat together. She’s about 2 years old and a total sweetheart. Part of the problem is that she still seems really nervous around my boyfriend (I think she warmed up to me quicker because I work from home so she spends pretty much all day around me). Some days she’ll be really sweet and cuddle up to him, other days she’ll stand at the door of whatever room we’re all in, waiting to bolt. We understand it’s a natural process of her getting used to living with us, but is there anything we can do to help?
I’ve been getting him used to being around cats (sometimes he tries to play with her like she’s a dog and I have to remind him that that’s probably scary to her), could him being the one to feed her and give her treats help any? Or not worth making a conscious effort? Any other tips anyone else has?
