My cat has FIV, and vet gave me mouth spray for it. First it was easy to do it coz he wouldn’t run away from me, but he hated the taste even though I gave him treats before and after the spray. After couple of weeks he started to hide, now he doesn’t even let me get close to him. So I can’t really use the spray anymore.
His symptoms are getting worse too, coughing blood etc.
My ex had a cat with FIV too, and she refused to put him down for so long and I saw how much that cat suffered, (even though we tried pills to injection) till he passed away.
I read online that you should never put a cat that has FIV. I know my cat doesn’t suffer much, but it’s clearly creeping on him. Quality of his life decreased, eating is hard for him, he doesn’t move much till I get close him. Since I had experience with my ex’s cat, that left a really bad memory. I don’t want him to suffer but I’m afraid it’s too early to put him down.
I guess I’m writing this down to get some idea, what should I do.
