Princess(our cat) has been living in our garden for the past 6 months. She’s a stray. We just feed her food every now and then. Recently, she got pregnant and gave birth to 6 beautiful kittens. We gave 3 of them away a few days ago so we got 3 left (they’re 10 weeks old now). That’s when the 3 kittens became ill. Vomiting, not eating, weak, not playing, muscle tremors, excessive sleeping, etc. We have gone to the vet twice but one of them is still very sick so we have to take extra care of the kittens but Princess keeps meowing loudly, cooing and nudging the kittens while they’re asleep, making them wake up which results in very sick and tired kittens.
So i tried putting Princess in a different room beside where the kittens are but she keeps trying to come back in all the time (also meowing even louder). I’ve also tried putting her in a room far away but that room gets very very hot and humid, even a fan can’t help (low ceiling, no ac) . The only option is to make her stay outdoors where she’s been staying for her whole life (she’s only been indoors for a month because we had to spay her). So my question is ”Is that cruel?”. She’s already had 3 of her kittens taken away and now she has to stay apart from her remaining 3 children.
Of course, I would still provide food and fresh water 24/7.
