Hi all, my beagle/dachshund mix has unfortunately been diagnosed with IVDD. His vet report card says he still has deep pain, which I am assuming is stage IV. The vet gave him gabapentin liquid form, methocarbamol, and caprofin and restricted him to 24/7 crate rest except for potty breaks.
I am unable to afford any surgery at this point, so I'm wondering on the prognosis if we just stick with the crate rest and meds? Other than being unable to stand and walk with his back legs, he's acting normal and is responsive to his favorite words, eating well and drinking, and hasn't really been vocal with his pain and still wants cuddle time, even though he has to be confined.
He's only 2 and a half, but he is my world and I can't imagine losing him this early. Just seeing if there was anyone with similar experiences
