I recently came into possession of a malnourished cane Corso pitbull mix around 1 1/2 yo old and I've never had to deal with a malnourished dog before.
When she first came inside she ate to the point of being immediately sick. So now I feed her twice a day sometimes 3 times a day. She gets a 38 oz bowl of gravy train (more like 30 oz of food) with 2 large eggs and water added to make the gravy.
I've had her 2 weeks now but she still can't eat more than 3 bowls of food without getting sick. She has been gaining weight which is good because here ribs and spine were very defined and visible.
