My cat's name is "Shoo" while the kitten we gave it a temporary name "Boi" since we plan on selling the kitten once old enough. We got Boi yesterday when the owner of the female cat (that used my cat as a stud to get preggers, so yeah the kitten is his son) gave him to us. He wasn't supposed to give us the kitten until it was 2 months old and we agreed upon a female. (That's a whole other issue).
So once Boi got in the house we slowly introduced him to Shoo. Shoo was quite excited to meet Boi. He was wailing and meowing loudly, it was similar to when he met the female cat. Once we got them closer he would start biting at him. It wasn't too much of an aggressive way. I looked a bit playful. That kept on going the whole day yesterday where my sister had to constantly watch the kitten cause Shoo won't leave Boi alone. And if we put them in separate rooms, Shoo would be meowing so loud and would constantly do that until we let him in the room.
We put the kitten in the cage last night and Shoo was right by his side the whole time. Shoo would always sleep in my room but he can't bare to be away from the kitten so he slept in the living room. I woke up early to let the kitten out of the cage in case he pees or poops in there. I kept watching their interaction again and I kept comparing it to Shoo's interaction with the Female cat.
It was when I let Shoo bite a little longer on the kitten is when I realized that he was trying to mate with the kitten. He was mounting and actively humping Boi. I don't understand why. Shoo is not spayed or neutered, the kitten is a male, and it's just a month and a week old. I'm not sure what to do about it. His constant biting might tear out the fur on the kitten's neck. Please help.
