Hi, first time poster to this subreddit. Currently 10 pm and annoyed with my dumb little cat, Dobby.
I got Dobby from my moms litter of in-bred cats when he was about 4 months old. From the second he was born he and I just clicked and were very tight with each other (as tight as you can be with a cat). I was the first to hold him, first to pick a name for him, and the one he chose as his.
I love Dobby to death, he is my sweet boy and helps me with a lot of emotional problems I have, but around the 3-4 week mark of bringing him home he started using my bed as a litterbox. I’ve kept his box clean as best as I could considering I’m in school, and have done nothing to what I could assume anger him. A few weeks ago my family got a dog, beautiful girl and loves attention so much, but when she showed up he started to use my bed more as a crap zone.
I’ve given the dog less attention than I use to, and have been giving him more but he keeps using my bed. Just today he did #2 on my bed in the morning, then while I was showering he peed on my changed sheets- litterbox clean.
I’m at a loss, I think he might be sick but he only does this on my bed, nobody else’s. I need help and I don’t have money to afford a vets bill just to possibly find out it’s nothing. I love him so much and I don’t want to lose him, but my family says if this keeps going on he will have to go.
