My Pet Bird died.
We didn’t have him for very long, around 7-8 months. He wasn’t even meant to come back home with us, we had gone with the intention to buy our green cheek conure and the lady happened to have baby love birds.
We couldn’t resist and took the two home. They became the best of friends. And the green cheek had taken a while to warm up to us but our love bird adored us. He was the most lovely and amazing bird I’ve ever had.
Unfortunately on Thursday, I let them out of the cage to play around outside for a minute and in that minute I came back and found 3 big black birds in the backyard, i noticed my birds feathers in their mouth as they flew off but I still had hope they left him around or he had managed to hide. Unfortunately he didn’t, and we tried to chase the birds down but... no luck. I keep thinking of what he felt, how scared he must have been....I’ve been crying for the past three days that I had to witness that entire attack. I hope he knew how much we loved him.
Anyway, people may find this silly but it’s really affected me. He was so sassy and loving, I really miss him. And so does his BFF, the green cheek. Who has become so quiet and constantly looks around for his little friend. 😔
