New cat in home, current cat now peeing on stuff

Two days ago I brought home a 6 month old kitten (Wolfenstein), and I let my current cat (Xion) smell his things to get used to his scent. I thought things were going well, but I’ve come to find that she peed all over the blanket he’s been sleeping on. When I first brought Xion home, she was such a nervous wreck that she peed on my couch, my bed, EVERYTHING. It’s been a couple years now and she hasn’t done anything like that, and I thought it would be a good idea to bring home another cat to ease her separation anxiety and give her a friend while I work long hours.

I am really scared she’ll start peeing on more things, and I know I’ve only had Wolfenstein two days but the idea of having to rehome him just because of this kills me. But I can’t have her peeing on my furniture again. I cant afford to replace my bed again. Is there any advice anyone can give as to how to prevent this from happening again?

I’m scared that I made a mistake by adopting another animal. I really thought it would help her.
