My dog is a 13 year old decker rat terrier at a healthy weight. He has hip dysplasia, can't do stairs and is pretty unstable/clumsy on his back legs, though he can still go for long walks. He doesn't really act like he's in pain but I still worry. The vet has given him pills for his hips before but he reacted poorly to them. I'm not sure which medication, he's my parents dog that I grew up with but I'm watching him this week. Does anyone have advice on alternative treatments that could help him be a little more mobile or comfortable if he's in pain?
