Persian Cat / Dental Reccomendations

Hi, Thanks for clicking and reading.

I really need some advice from some experts here as I'm running out of options and getting worried for my cat.

I have a Persian cat that's 15 years old female, female, indoor and spayed. She's been having teeth issues and there's alot of plaque, due to this plaque she's lost weight and hasn't been eating her urinary medical food the last 2 days. The doc told us her vitals are critical she's lost weight, de hydrated and has a high temperature.

We were told my cat won't survive the anaesthetic for the dental procedure. They quoted us to hospitalise my cat at an extortionate amount of money which frankly is something I can't pay. They said the test they want to carry out will be blood tests, IV Drip her with fluids and treat her with some antibiotics to help her regain her appetite? But clearly she's not eating due to teeth pain as I saw my cat here her head when she chews like something in her gums is affecting her.

Is there anyone who has been or faced a similar situation I am in? Can really use some guidance and advice. Is there any kind of home treatment I can try that won't be that hard on my cat and will help her teet slightly?

I know this sounds bad, but at 15 years of age for an indoor Persian cat is there any point trying all these treatments when she's already so old? I just can't fathom a living thing not being able to eat due to pain breaks my heart.

All replies are appreciated.
