Hi, i’ve gone to my vet about 10 times now over the past few months, and they have no idea what’s wrong with my cat all they can do at this point is tell me to go to a specialist. Said specialist is stupid expensive and I can’t afford it. Since about August my cat has been getting sick on and off. Originally it was just simple things like he came in throwing up due to constipation which they fixed with catlax and he was fine again for a few weeks. Next he got a pretty bad UTI which again was fixed with meds. After that though he started getting sick without any obvious causes and throwing up everywhere which nausea meds seemed to fix. Then in about November he stopped eating when he was sick which, again, the nausea meds would fix. However around late February he stopped eating for over 2 weeks and lost 7 pounds going from a fat fluffy thing to skin and bones despite meds. Then he just started eating again randomly. He got better for a few weeks, and the vet did a bunch of tests like FIP and feline HIV which came negative. However he got sick again and now no matter what we do he will not eat. He isn’t throwing up just refusing to eat. He’s also licking his lips like he’s nauseous often. I’ve been syringe feeding him for about a month and coaxing him to eat food in a million different ways I read on the internet and he’s not getting any better. I think found blood coming from his mouth today but I didn’t see it happen so he could have just had something red spill on him. What do I do to make him start eating again?
