I bought a water fountain (Eversweet 3) as I want to encourage my cat to drinking more due to the vet saying he was dehydrated.
Previously I have used a stainless steel bowl that I replaced twice a day with fresh water, and could easily see how much he was drinking.
People who moved to fountains, did you keep your cat’s old method of water drinking around for them to acclimatize to the fountain?
He does seem to like the fountain and has drunk from it. I was thinking of maybe putting the bowl, what I used previously, in a separate spot far away just so he knows there is that option available.
