Anxious about leaving my dog for 6 months

Hi!

The thing is I have to visit family living abroad and I might be gone for 6 months. My dog and I just moved to a new place and he has just adjusted. I have arranged for a cousin who loves dogs so much and has one of her own to take care of mine while I am away.

I know he will be taken care of, but I am worried if he’s going to be okay. We’re extremely close and this will be the first time he will be far from me.

Have you had or know a similar experience? How did it work out for you?
