I have a jack Russell mixed with chihuahua. He is 6 years old and apart of the family. My sister recently bought her son a cockatiel bird, and we all live together. It’s been 3 days since the bird has been home and my dog won’t stop panting and whining. He even has been waking up from my sleep because of it. He is just so fixated on the bird. Honestly even when we try to hide the bird he walks around until he finds it.
Can someone please give me some advice? Is getting rid of the bird my only option? Even right now as I write this post, my dog is with me whining even though the bird is all the way in my sisters room which is the garage. It sucks feeling like my dog is so stressed out even though we tell him it’s okay and try to keep him active. The bird is also just a baby and is soooo sweet and loves us already, so this really sucks.
