my roommate has a cat named Oliver who just recently turned a year old. He is so bad. He tears shit up, plays super rough, has mood swings a lot, and does a whole lot of clawing and biting and hissing that should’ve stopped months ago. He always acts really spoiled and what not, and there are some days where she will cry wondering if he even loves her, because he treats her like shit. he loves us a bunch though, I do my fair share of dousing him with the spray bottle when necessary, but most of the time I just opt for a firm no and an angry face, which he fully understands by this point. when friends come over they see his behavior and they are confused as to why he’s still around, however, I love this cat so fucking much and so does my roommate. he has pretty bad trauma from being the only survivor of a feral litter, and I can tell his love for us is unconditional despite his hostile behavior. He loves laying in the window, loves yelling at birds, and is ALWAYS curled up on my lap when i need to cry or even when I just have really bad period cramps. he also makes us laugh all the time by just being a big dumb oaf, and it’s the highlight of my day if I wake up with him curled next to me. People who have bad pets have huge hearts, I firmly believe my roommate will have him forever because she knows there’s a good kitty behind all the trauma, and the apartment wouldn’t be the same without him. also, even bad pets deserve a good home no matter what, and I can tell our bond w him is stronger because he knows we still love him and take care of him even after he acts REALLY REALLY BAD. pets know these things. Anyways y’all have a good day :)
