I plan on getting an Australian Shepherd puppy in the morning. My aunt feels I won’t have enough time for a dog, but I don’t feel that my career as a nurse should prevent me from providing a home for a pet or the joy it would bring to us both. I’ve wanted a dog for years and rescued one in 2017 that I rehomed. She doesn’t see it that way. She sees it as me getting a dog out of an abusive situation and them giving him away. I knew he wasn’t the dog for me when I rescued him which is why I had the intention from the beginning to rehome him. She is a very important person in my life, but sometimes I feel like she hinders me because she causes me to second guess decisions.
