I bought a pet fountain - one of those automatic pet waterers that filters the water. One of our cats is fine with it. The other cat, Mercury, and the dog are terrified.
I have turned it off, they still will not drink from it (though it’s only been two hours since I put it out). I put cat treats around and on the top of it and Mercury ate the treats and only pawed at the water. I have a regular water dish filled with water for them until they get used to it.
What else can I do to help them get used to the pet fountain? Or should I just return it?
