My entire family has always lived having animals. And they live good and average length lives.
But it kind of seems like we just keep them alive and I don’t exactly know if I’m neglecting them or something.
My dad takes care of his dog. So I’m going to talk about my cat.
I feed them the same food. I give them water. And I clean up after them. That’s really it.
I feed them the same stuff usually. My cat eats the same dry food that she has been for years. I’ve never felt the need to change anything. Besides that, I just give them lots of love and attention. And I know that they love me too.
But working at a pet store, I’ve realized that there’s a lot of people who seem to do more for there pets. They’re getting them wet food. Getting them grooming visits, and vet visits frequently. But I don’t do that stuff because things just seem to work out.
Am I a bad pet owner? Am I just doing the bare minimum and they’re actually suffering? Am I only good at showing affection towards them?
What do I do? How do I become a better pet owner?
