My 7 yr old neutered male got out of the house while I was at work, a family member visiting didn't close the door and he left. We were knew to that area maybe 5 months since we moved there but he had never been outside. I put up posters and looked everywhere for 3 months finally someone spotted him and I went to the location and saw him there I called his name he turned saw me and bolted. I figured he'd be skiddish but I've spent all day trying to approach him and I can't get 2 ft near him without him running! I wouldn't find it too strange but he lets strangers around the neighborhood approach him and pet him! I don't understand we were so close when he was home I've had him since I rescued him as a stray kitten. We used to be inseparable but now he won't come near me. I am so heartbroken I have no idea what to do! He doesn't seem to want to come home at all.
