If your dog and/or cats flea problem is “out of control” try this short term fix. I spray my dogs/ cats under belly and back with a good amount off OFF bug repellent and rub it in. I got the idea because my house was infested and I tried “bombing” it with typical bug bombs and it didn’t help so I had to spray my legs and ankles with bug repellent. It worked so well that it came to me that it might help my pets too. The draw back is the dog or cat might be able to ingest the repellent by licking but these are less fortunate pets adopted from the humane society and I’m poor. So far it has worked really well, with probably a 90% reduction in fleas but you have to repeat it every two or three days. This in combination with a flea bath (dog) once a week has worked very well for us.
